What You Need to Apply for a
Private Student Loan
If you would like to apply for a private student loan from Education Finance Partners, it's important to:
- determine whether you're eligible to apply and
- gather all the information you'll need to complete the application.
You or your cosigner are eligible to apply for an Education Finance Partners Private Loan if you:
- are a U.S. citizen or permanent resident with a valid permanent resident card.
- are an international student who:
- is applying with a cosigner who is a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, or
- has a U.S. citizen or permanent resident applying on your behalf.
- are actively pursuing a degree at an eligible institution.
- meet our criteria for creditworthiness. If you don't, you should consider applying with a cosigner or having a creditworthy parent, guardian, or sponsor apply on your behalf.
If you're ready to apply for a private student loan, please have all of the following
information available:
- Name, address and contact information
- Social Security number
- Current driver's license or state ID number
- Permanent resident number (if applicable)
- Name, address and phone number of a reference
- Employer's name, address, and phone number (if applicable)
- Monthly housing expense (if applicable)
- Loan amount you are requesting
